Big enough that distance decides most of it.
This site is new. Whoever is first here will have a quiet few weeks and will be the reason it is not quiet later.
London is the hardest city in this country to meet anybody in, and the reason is arithmetic. It is over a thousand square kilometres. Two men in the same city can be an hour and two changes apart, which is not a date, it is an expedition. Apps that show you the whole city sorted by how recently somebody opened them are showing you a list you cannot act on.
So the grid here is sorted by distance, in kilometres, rounded. If somebody is four stops away you will see that before you see anything else about them. Your exact position is never stored — it is rounded to about a kilometre before it is written down, so the number on your profile is honest and still not a map to your door.
Everybody you see has taken a selfie in a pose the site chose at random, within sixty seconds, and it was matched against their photos before their profile went anywhere. That is the whole membership test, and it is free, as is every message you will ever send here.
The full list of what gets somebody removed is in the community rules, and what is held about you is in the privacy page.
